Bookkeeper and Accountant Responsibilities.
Bookkeeping is the first step to accounting. The bookkeepers job is to record and code the day to day transactions of your business as well as recording the correct GST for your BAS. A bookkeeper can lodge BAS if they use the Australian Bookkeepers Network program or they themselves are a BAS agent.
An accountant works on your end of financial year figures. This is where people get a bit confused. The end of the year is where you can claim such things like fuel expenses, uniforms ect. On your end of year tax.
In short Bookkeepers deal with GST, goods and services tax, whereas Accountants deal with EOFY year tax.
Accounting Software
Accountable Bookkeeping uses both Xero and MYOB. Although we are proficient in other programs we believe we can serve the best service possible using Xero and MYOB. We provide extensive training on both programs and can easily convert from other software if you are looking to upgrade.
